Chandra Prakash Dwivedi

Padma Shri Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi is an acclaimed Indian filmmaker, writer, and director known for his seminal contributions to cinema, television, and Indian cultural heritage. He is currently the scriptwriter for a multimedia show at Rashtrapati Bhavan and Creative Director for the Indian Heritage & Culture Amusement Park at Mahabalipuram under the Mata Amritanandamayi Trust. He also serves as Creative Director for Prasar Bharati’s Jan Jan Mein Ram and for the docu-drama Kumbh Diaries.

Dr. Dwivedi has contributed creatively to major national cultural projects, including Light & Sound shows at Ayodhya and Ujjain Mahakaal, multimedia content for the Mahabharata Museum at Jyotisar (2023), and several heritage initiatives.

In cinema, he was Creative Producer for Oh My God 2 (2023) and Ram Setu (2022). He is the writer–director of Samrat Prithviraj (2022), Mohalla Assi, Zed Plus, and the National Award–winning Pinjar.

In television, Dr. Dwivedi created, wrote, and directed landmark series such as Chanakya (1991), Mrityunjay (1996), and the acclaimed Upanishad Ganga (2011, 52 episodes). He also created Surajya Sanhita (2019–2021) and served as Dialogue Writer for the series on Chhatrapati Shivaji.

He has also worked extensively on documentaries and cultural heritage projects, contributing to India’s historical storytelling tradition across multiple mediums.
