Nazneen Haque Mimi
Nazneen Haque Mimi, who holds an Honours and Masters degree in Sociology from Dhaka University and a LLB. Later she completed Interior Design Degree and Started Profession. She wrote her first book “Homes of Bangladesh”.
As a person, Mimi is highly inquisitive and holds a fascination for aesthetically pleasing things and the charm of old heritage buildings, especially ones which carry a colonial touch in architecture. She took meticulous notes of how these countries appeared to her and journaled her thoughts and ideas, and thus, her third book “Glimpses of Asia- the Travel Journal” was born. Most of these journals are from a personal point of view, so going through them will feel like listening to her talking of her experiences. Many of these articles, in shorter versions, have been printed as her contributions to her column for Star Lifestyle.
The book brings together her experiences and observations on the places she has visited and all that charms her therein for a similarly curious reader, and gives an idea of the ambience of these destinations. Nazneen paid immense interest in the 1969 Mass uprising of Bangladesh. She wrote two books about Agortola case, are very important for Bangladesh liberation history. Untold History of Agartala Case & Shaheed Sergeant Zahurul Haque and 1969, Martyred Sergeant Zahurul Haque & Liberation War.
