
Ganesh N. Devy
G. N. Devy is a critic, cultural activist, and author of over a hundred works in Marathi, Gujarati, and English, in areas such as Literary Criticism, Education, Linguistics, Anthropology, and History. He founded the Bhasha Research Centre and Adivasi Academy, and he also led the monumental People’s Linguistic Survey of India, documenting 780 living languages. His acclaimed works include After Amnesia, Of Many Heroes, Nomad Called Thief, and India as a Linguistic Civilization. A recipient of prestigious awards including the Padma Shri and Sahitya Akademi Award, he is recognized nationally and internationally for his contributions to literature and culture.
