About

Our Story

The journey of our festival began with a deep reverence for Nalanda’s wisdom—an ancient center of learning that shaped the intellectual and spiritual traditions of the world. Inspired by its legacy of knowledge, discourse, and cultural exchange, we envisioned a platform where minds from diverse backgrounds could come together to celebrate the power of ideas.

The Legacy

Nalanda stands as one of the worlds greatest centers of learning—a beacon of intellectual pursuit, philosophical inquiry, and cultural exchange that flourished for centuries. Founded in the 5th century CE, Nalanda was more than just a university; it was a melting pot of ideas, attracting scholars and seekers from across Asia, including China, Tibet, Korea, and Persia.

Who We Are

At the heart of this festival is a passionate team of scholars, artists, writers, and cultural enthusiasts dedicated to reviving the timeless wisdom of Nalanda. We are a diverse group of visionaries who believe in the power of knowledge, storytelling, and intellectual exchange to shape a better world.

NALANDA LITERATURE FESTIVAL 2025

(DEC 21ST - DEC 25TH 2025 at NALANDA BIHAR)

Nalanda Literature Festival 2025 is being organised by Dhanu Bihar under Bihar Ek; Virasat campaign, from 21st-25th Dec, 2025 in Nalanda and will be hosted at Convention Centre, Nalanda, Bihar. It’s a 5 days programme of language, literature and legacy to promote distinct language, literature and culture of India with special focus
on Bihar and north eastern states to promote cultural tourism on such a massive scale, probably the first of its kind to have ever been organized in the state for last 50 years.

  • Celebrate Linguistic Heritage: The Festival aims to honor and showcase the rich linguistic and cultural legacy of India, with a focus on Bihar's dialects (like Maithili, Bhojpuri, and Magahi) and the diverse languages of the North-East (such as Bodo, Mizo, and Manipuri)..

  • Promote Digital Preservation: It will explore the use of AI, NLP, and digital tools to preserve and revitalize regional and tribal languages through archives, oral histories, and interactive platforms. .

  • Enable Language Innovation: The initiative seeks to develop indigenous AI solutions—like chatbots, translators, and voice interfaces—for underrepresented languages, positioning the North-East as a hub for digital linguistic innovation.. .
