Volunteers play a vital role in ensuring the smooth execution of the Nalanda Literature Festival. Below are answers to common questions regarding roles, responsibilities, selection, training, and support.

What kind of roles can volunteers expect during the event?
Volunteers can be assigned to different departments such as registration, session support, author hospitality, logistics, media, or food and catering.
Will volunteers receive any training or orientation before the event?
Yes. All selected volunteers must attend a compulsory two-day offline training where they will be guided on responsibilities, schedules, and event protocols.
Are volunteers allowed to switch departments once selected?
Department changes are generally discouraged, as assignments are based on the event’s requirements. However, in exceptional cases, changes may be considered by the organizing committee.
Is there any fee or deposit involved in volunteering?
No. Volunteering for the event is completely free.
Do volunteers get meals and refreshments during their duty hours?
Yes. Volunteers on duty will be provided with meals or refreshments.
How will volunteers be informed about their selection?
Selected candidates will be notified via email with details about their department, role, and schedule. However role may be changed at the venue itself, if organiser feel to do so.
What kind of certificate will be awarded to volunteers?
All volunteers who successfully complete their assigned duties will receive a certificate of participation.
How are volunteers expected to dress for the event?
A dress code will be communicated before the event.
How can volunteers stay updated about announcements and duty changes?
All updates, duty changes, and important information will be shared via email, WhatsApp groups, or official communication channels.
