Rituparna Neog is a queer rights activist, researcher, and development professional from Assam. She is the Founder and Director of the Akam Foundation, a transgender-led feminist organisation advancing education, livelihood, and gender justice in Northeast India. An alumna of TISS, she has been mobilising queer communities, promoting entrepreneurship for transgender people, and creating feminist community libraries as inclusive spaces. Rituparna also serves as a Member of the National Council for Transgender Persons, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, and the Assam State Transgender Welfare Board, where she contributes to shaping policy and ensuring inclusive governance.
