Dr. Manish Karmwar is a Faculty Member at the Department of African Studies, University of Delhi, with nearly two decades of teaching and research experience.He completed his Graduation, Post-Graduation, M.Phil., and Ph.D. at the University of Delhi.
A specialist in African History, Diaspora Studies, Migration, and Assimilation, he has authored over thirty peer-reviewed research papers across SCOPUS, CARE, and international journals.
His Ph.D. research, African Diaspora in India: A Historical Study, and subsequent works have significantly contributed to understanding Afro-Indian histories and cross-cultural linkages.
Dr Karmwar has presented invited lectures at national and international forums, including ICWA, NMML, JNU NITI Aayog, VIF and leading universities.
He has supervised seven ongoing Ph.D. scholars working on African societies, diaspora, economy, and cultural linkages.
As a convenor of the Graduate Scholars’ Talk Series (GSTS) and University Diplomatic Dialogue (UDD), he has strengthened India–Africa academic and diplomatic engagement.
He also serves as Book Review Editor for Africa Review (Brill, Netherlands) and is part of the editorial boards of two UGC-listed journals.
His recent works explore Decolonisation of Minds,Indigenous Knowledge Systems, Digital Governance, and India–Africa strategic relations, with increasing visibility in policy and public discourse. Dr. Karmwar continues to advance African Studies within India’s global engagement frameworks.
