Vinay Kumar is currently Secretary, Bodhgaya Biennale, an Honorary Editor, Canvas and an artist. He is founder of a trust for visual arts, Canvas. He has previously been Deputy Secretary of Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, Regional Director of ICCR, Bihar. Ex-Member of Sangeet Natak Akademi, Delhi and Bihar Lalit Kala Akademi. He is also an editor of Lalitya (BLKA Bulletin). He has been involved in Art Activism since 1988. He has also curated several art exhibitions in Patna and Delhi. He is a founder member of Nand Lal Bose Nukkad Art Gallery, Patna. He has been writing on art since 1988 in Janshakti, India Today, Outlook, The Times of India and Navbharat Times. He has published three books on Contemporary and Folk Arts.
