Sh. Amit Shah

Shri Amit Shah is an Indian politician serving as the Union Minister of Home Affairs and Minister of Cooperation in the Government of India. A senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party, he has held several key organisational and governmental positions and is known for his work in governance, internal security, cooperative development, and public administration.

Born on 22 October 1964 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, he spent much of his early life in Mansa, Gujarat, and earned a B.Sc. in Biochemistry from CU Shah Science College, Ahmedabad. He became associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh in his youth before joining the Bharatiya Janata Party. He served as a Member of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly for multiple terms and held ministerial responsibilities in the state government. He became National President of the BJP in 2014, overseeing significant organisational expansion, and has served as Union Home Minister since 2019, alongside the portfolio of Minister of Cooperation.
