Sh. Lalduhoma
Hon’ble Chief Minister of Mizoram
Shri Lalduhoma is an Indian statesman, former Indian Police Service officer, and Chief Minister of Mizoram. As leader of the Zoram People’s Movement, he is recognised for his contributions to governance, public administration, peacebuilding, and the socioeconomic development of the state.
Born on 22 February 1949 in Tualpui, he graduated with a B.A. (Distinction) from Gauhati University. He began his career as Personal Assistant to the Chief Minister of Mizoram before joining the Indian Police Service in 1977, serving in Goa and later as part of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s security team. He resigned from the IPS to enter politics and was elected to the Lok Sabha from Mizoram in 1984. He later founded the Zoram Nationalist Party, which became part of the Zoram People’s Movement. Following the 2023 Mizoram Assembly elections, he was sworn in as the 6th Chief Minister of Mizoram on 8 December 2023.
