Sh. Manik Saha

Shri Manik Saha is an Indian politician, dental surgeon, and academic serving as the Chief Minister of Tripura. A former professor of dentistry, he entered public life after a distinguished academic career and is recognised for his contributions to healthcare, education, public administration, and governance.

Born on 8 January 1953 in Agartala, he earned his B.D.S. from Government Dental College, Patna, and his M.D.S. from King George’s Medical University, Lucknow. Before entering politics, he served as Professor and Head of the Department of Dental Surgery at Tripura Medical College. He joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2016 and became President of its Tripura unit in 2020. He was elected to the Rajya Sabha in 2022 and sworn in as the 11th Chief Minister of Tripura on 15 May 2022, continuing in office after the 2023 Assembly elections.
