Sh. Prem Singh Tamang
Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sikkim
Shri Prem Singh Tamang is the Chief Minister of Sikkim. Born on 5 February 1968 in Singling, Soreng district, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Darjeeling Government College and began his professional career as a government school teacher before entering politics in the early 1990s.
After many years with the Sikkim Democratic Front, he founded the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha in 2013. Under his leadership, the party won the 2019 Sikkim Legislative Assembly election, ending 25 years of SDF rule, and he was sworn in as the 6th Chief Minister of Sikkim on 27 May 2019. He led the party to another decisive victory in the 2024 Assembly elections, securing a second consecutive term.
