Shri Syed Ata Hasnain is the Governor of Bihar, having assumed office on 14 March 2026. A distinguished former Indian Army officer, he served for nearly four decades and held several important commands, including General Officer Commanding of the XV Corps (Chinar Corps) in Srinagar. He has extensive experience in Jammu & Kashmir, Siachen, the North-East, Sri Lanka, and United Nations peacekeeping missions. His military career and expertise in national security, leadership, and strategic affairs have made him a prominent public figure.
