It seeks to highlight how dialects like Bajjika, Angika, Magahi, Maithili, and Bhojpuri reflect the socio-cultural, Tibeto-Burman, Tai-Kadai, and Indo-Aryan language families, and major tongues like Assamese, Bodo, Mizo, Manipuri, Khasi, and Nagamese. The influence of Buddhism on Tibetan literature, the value of tribal languages in preserving identity, and the significance of ancient inscriptions will be explored. The Festival also aims to discuss the role of technology in preserving and promoting regional languages through Natural Language Processing (NLP) tools, voice interfaces, and digital archives, ensuring these vibrant languages remain relevant in the modern age.The National Literature Festival is envisioned as a pathbreaking, large-scale initiative aimed at preserving, promoting, and digitally empowering the diverse linguistic and cultural heritage of India, with special focus on the North-Eastern states. At its core, the Festival seeks to usher in a new era of AI- and IT-driven language revitalization by applying NLP, speech recognition, and smart technologies to tribal and regional languages of the North-East such as Bodo,Khasi, Mizo, Manipuri (Meitei), Nagamese, and Arunachali tongues. The project aims to explore the feasibility of developing indigenous AI models, chatbots, machine translators, and voice-based interfaces for these languages, ensuring their inclusion in the digital future. The Festival will support the creation of digital archives, oral history repositories, and interactive platforms for folklore, proverbs, songs, and literature from North-Eastern communities. It will emphasize the development of large language datasets and annotated corpora essential for building robust AI tools for lesser-documented languages.Parallelly, the event will explore the rich dialectical traditions of Bihar—including Bhojpuri, Maithili, Magahi, Bajjika, Angika, and Surjapuri—and study how folk traditions, oral literature, and poetic forms can be technologically preserved and globally disseminated. The Festival aims to be a national movement—uniting scholars, technologists, cultural leaders, and policymakers—to build a digital infrastructure for India’s linguistic diversity, with the North-East as the epicenter of a new AI-powered cultural renaissance.
