Dr. Ajit Pradhan, a pioneering cardiac surgeon, founded the Navras School of Performing Arts, a leading NGO promoting Hindustani classical music and allied arts, under whose aegis he has organised more than 155 free public concerts. NSPA launched Bihar's first literature festival, the Patna Literature Festival, in 2013, followed by its second and third editions, and subsequently India's first Festival of Literature on Music, whose recent second edition brought together 42 musicians. During the pandemic lockdown, Dr Pradhan launched weekly online raga-based concerts sustained over eighteen months, supporting classical music and its artists and earning national recognition and a wide audience.
