Sh. Dinesh Kumar Mali

Shri Dinesh Kumar Mali, a native of Sirohi district, Rajasthan, has established a distinctive identity in the literary world as a writer, poet, translator, and critic. He is particularly adept at translating Odia and English literature into Hindi. He wrote his first book, Na Hanyate, as a tribute to his father, and has done significant work on the writings of the eminent Hindi poet Udbhrant, Dr Vimala Bhandari, Prof. Prabha Pant, Prof. Nandini Sahu, and former Coal Secretary Shri Prakash Parakh.

He has been guest editor of the Gandhi special issue of the Hindi magazine Duniya In Dinon, edited by Dr Sudhir Saxena, and of the Haldhar Nag special issue of Urvashi, edited by Dr Rajesh Srivastava. He has played a vital role in designing academic programmes and curricula through his chapters in IGNOU courses under the guidance of Prof. Nandini Sahu.

Three of his Odia-to-Hindi translations, Pak Shivs, Vishadeshwari, and Rape and Other Stories, have been translated onward into Kannada, and Mahishasur ka Mouh into Manipuri. His original work Cheen Mein Saat Din has been translated into Odia as Chinare Saat Din by the translator Kanak Manjari Sahu. His Radha Madhav: Ek Samagra Chintan and Treta: Ek Samyak Mulyankan have been translated into English by Ritu Bhatnagar as Radha Madhav: A Holistic Contemplation and Treta: An Apposite Evaluation.
