Sh. Ganesh Narayandas Devy

Shri G. N. Devy is a critic, cultural activist, and author of more than a hundred works in Marathi, Gujarati, and English across literary criticism, education, linguistics, anthropology, and history. He founded the Bhasha Research Centre and the Adivasi Academy, and led the monumental People's Linguistic Survey of India, which documented 780 living languages. His acclaimed works include After Amnesia, Of Many Heroes, A Nomad Called Thief, and India: A Linguistic Civilization. A recipient of the Padma Shri and the Sahitya Akademi Award, he is recognised nationally and internationally for his contributions to literature and culture.
