Nobel Peace Prize Laureate & Children's Rights Activist
Shri Kailash Satyarthi is an Indian children's rights activist, social reformer, and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, internationally recognised for his lifelong campaign against child labour, child trafficking, and exploitation, and for working to ensure every child has access to education, freedom, and a safe childhood.
Born on 11 January 1954 in Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh, he studied electrical engineering before leaving his career to dedicate his life to social service. In 1980 he founded the Bachpan Bachao Andolan, the Save the Childhood Movement, which has rescued thousands of children from forced labour, trafficking, and slavery. He has also led global campaigns promoting children's rights and universal education.
