Prof. Sunaina Singh

Prof. Sunaina Singh is a globally recognised academic leader and administrator, celebrated for her impact on higher education in South Asia. Her career is marked by a blend of scholarly excellence and visionary institutional leadership, best exemplified by her pivotal role in re-establishing Nalanda University as its Vice-Chancellor, an achievement that has drawn international acclaim.

Her ability to revitalise institutions is further demonstrated by the leadership roles she has held: Vice President of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations; Governing Board member of the Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla; Visitor's Nominee, on behalf of the President of India, on the executive boards of more than twelve central universities; and the first Indian woman President of the Bi-National Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute. As Vice-Chancellor of the English and Foreign Languages University, she implemented key reforms to enhance academic culture, build interdisciplinary research clusters, and bring greater operational transparency.
