Ms. Sunita Williams is an American astronaut, retired US Navy officer, and engineer. One of the world's most accomplished astronauts, she is known for long-duration missions aboard the International Space Station and for her record-breaking spacewalks. Of Indian and Slovenian heritage, she has inspired millions through her achievements in space exploration.
Born on 19 September 1965 in Euclid, Ohio, she graduated from the US Naval Academy and served as a helicopter pilot in the US Navy before joining NASA as an astronaut in 1998. She has completed multiple missions to the International Space Station, conducting scientific experiments, performing numerous spacewalks, and spending hundreds of days living and working in space.
