Ms. Surekha Sahu

Ms. Surekha Sahu is a 1994-batch officer of the Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers, currently serving as Director (Infrastructure) at the Centre for Railway Information Systems, Delhi. Over a distinguished and multifaceted career she has served with South Central Railway, Northern Railway, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, and the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.

A native of Bhopal, she completed her engineering and postgraduate studies at Maulana Azad College, Bhopal. Her interest in literature evolved through diverse life experiences, inspiring her to pursue creative writing, and her work has been published in several reputed magazines and featured in multiple poetry anthologies.

Her first poetry collection, Jeevan Ke Rang, was published in 2021, followed by Antarman Ki Ganthein (2023), in which she wrote poignantly of her emotional journey through struggle and illness. Her third collection, Saptarang, is a vivid and sensitive compilation of deep emotion and experience. She has a particular affinity for inspirational writing, believing that powerful thoughts can make life simpler and more meaningful, and in her fourth book, Anmol Pal: Jeevan Ke Prerak Prasang, she shares inspiring experiences and memorable moments from her life.

Antarman Ki Ganthein was honoured with the Premchand Award by the Ministry of Railways, and an English translation has been published as Knots Within. Her recent book The Ceiling, Me and My Sleepless Nights was launched at the National Centre for the Performing Arts, Mumbai. She has used writing as a powerful medium to spread awareness in society, and her work is significant not only in literary terms but for the way it encourages readers to overcome life's challenges and maintain inner strength.
