Sh. Tajender Singh Luthra

Shri Tajender Singh Luthra is a former IPS officer and Director General of Police, Chandigarh, who served for 34 years in the Indian Police. He has decisive executive leadership experience in law enforcement, criminal investigation, financial crime, and human resource management. He served in Delhi Police in a range of challenging capacities and investigated many high-profile crimes, and as Director General of Police, Chandigarh, he handled numerous sensitive law and order situations. He has been awarded the President's Police Medal for Meritorious Service and for Distinguished Service.

He is also a positive psychology expert, holding a Master of Applied Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania, and strives to make Indian policing more compassionate and empathetic. An eloquent TEDx speaker, he conducts workshops on achieving greater happiness, resilience, and meaning in life, and has trained more than a thousand police officers and young students.

He is a poet whose work unravels the complexities of human existence, destiny, and dignity. His poems have been published in American literary journals including New York Quarterly, Lammergeier, New Plains Review, Wingless Dreamer, and Voices, and his second book of poems has been translated into Russian.
