Shri Umesh Prasad, who writes under the name Umesh, is a well-known Magahi writer and a native of Nalanda who has contributed immensely to Magahi literature. His many books include Drishti Patrika, Maanjar, Vichar Drishti, Magahi Patrika, and Wang Magdhi. He has served as Secretary of the Akhil Bhartiya Magahi Mandap and the Nalanda District Hindi Sahitya Sammelan, and has held directorial roles with several eminent organisations.
